Hazard Evaluation and Epidemiology Research Group

In this research group, the following research is conducted: a) Assessment of the hazardous properties of chemical and physical agents at work whose toxic nature has not been previously well-defined, b) Epidemiological analysis of occupational diseases and injuries, and c) Estimation of the tolerable levels of occupational hazards. Research priority is given to the statistical analysis of newly-occurring occupational diseases or injuries, and to research into hazardous factors such as asbestos-related materials and work-related diseases, which are not only important in occupational health, but are also serious environmental issues for the wider community.
